As we approach the winter solstice, a time of reflection, renewal, and connection to the land, we acknowledge the resilience and wisdom carried through the seasons. This moment of stillness reminds us of the light that follows even the longest nights.
Looking back on our first year as Braiding Knowledges Canada, we are grateful for the partnerships, guidance, and shared knowledge that have shaped this journey. Thank you for walking with us as we braid Indigenous and Western ways of knowing toward stronger communities and enduring connections.
Please note: BKC offices will be closed for the holidays from December 22 to January 2 inclusive. We look forward to reconnecting in the new year.
Call for Proposals: Land-Based Learning
Braiding Knowledges Canada is accepting applications for 2026–27 land-based learning initiatives and camps that braid Indigenous and Western knowledges, support environmental stewardship, and foster intergenerational learning.
We welcome Inuit- or Métis-led projects, and programs across Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada—including urban and non-traditional land-learning settings.
Join us at Wanuskewin, a place of deep cultural and spiritual significance, for a national gathering connecting Indigenous and Western knowledge systems. Hear keynotes, panels, and conversations on Indigenous-led and co-led research across Canada.
