The Venue: Wanuskewin

Wanuskewin Heritage Park, one of Canada’s proposed UNESCO World Heritage Sites, has been a sacred gathering place for over 6,400 years. Located above opimihāw Creek and the South Saskatchewan River near Saskatoon, it offers a rare window into the living cultures, histories, and spiritual traditions of Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. Meaning “seeking peace of mind” in nēhiyawēwin (Plains Cree), Wanuskewin continues to advance understanding and appreciation of Indigenous knowledge and ways of life.
