New Call for Proposals!

Land-Based Learning

Braiding Knowledges Canada is now accepting applications for land-based learning initiatives and camps taking place in spring and summer 2026-27.

We’re seeking programs that braid Indigenous and Western knowledges, support environmental stewardship, and strengthen intergenerational learning. We’re especially interested in Inuit- or Métis-led initiatives and projects based in Ontario, Quebec, or Atlantic Canada.

Open to communities, organizations, youth, students, Elders, and knowledge holders across Canada—including urban youth and those in non-traditional land-learning settings.

Apply by January 12, 2026.

Learn More About Each Initiative

We're excited to announce 12 Land-Based Learning initiatives selected from our previous national call for proposals.

These projects will receive funding for 2025–26 and reflect a shared commitment to advancing Reconciliation through Research by braiding Indigenous and Western knowledges. They also demonstrate strong community engagement, place-based learning, and innovative approaches to knowledge braiding.
