New Members Join BKC’s
Research Management Committee

Braiding Knowledges Canada welcomes five new independent members to its Research Management Committee: Naluturuk (Nally) Rowan-Weetaluktuk, Carmen Richter, Dr. Shandin Pete, Sara Anderson, and Dr. Shaun Stevenson. Their expertise—from Inuit knowledge and land stewardship to Indigenous research and policy—strengthens BKC’s commitment to Indigenous-led, ethical research. Alongside existing members, the RMC guides strategy, oversees fair adjudication, and ensures research advances meaningful community impact.

2026 Braiding Knowledges Gathering Highlights

The 2026 Braiding Knowledges Canada Gathering at Wanuskewin Heritage Park brought nearly 200 participants from across Canada—Inuit, First Nations, Métis, non-Indigenous, and immigrant—together to braid knowledge and address issues like climate change, biodiversity loss, and cultural preservation. Over three days of keynotes, panels, on-the-land activities, and workshops, participants shared experiences and strengthened pathways for Indigenous and Western knowledge to create meaningful impact. The Gathering left a lasting impression—not from any single session, but from being part of a collective, growing effort to act together.
